The Mark Benevolent Fund (MBF) recently supported two remarkable charities: Ahead Of The Game Foundation and The Wirral Holistic Cancer Centre

Ahead Of The Game Foundation: This charity supports individuals diagnosed with cancer, along with their families and loved ones, by providing physical, mental, and emotional assistance. A grant of £34,304 was awarded to renovate a conservatory into a Cancer Nutrition Café. The café includes space for group sessions such as grief workshops, cancer coffee mornings, wig fitting, nutrition workshops, counselling, and caregiver support. The Province conducted due diligence and deemed the project a worthy cause.

The Wirral Holistic Cancer Centre: Located in a homely setting with gardens, this centre offers a space for patients to connect with nurses, therapists, and fellow patients. The centre required a new kitchen in its meeting area and replacements for 18-year-old Pneumatic Therapy Beds. Following due diligence, a grant of £16,984 was awarded for the kitchen refurbishment and eight new therapy beds.

On 20 January, representatives from the M.B.F. visited the charities to present virtual cheques, which were gratefully received by David Bolton and Patsy Hummerston.
