During his time as Worshipful Master and Worshipful Commander of St Seiriol Mark Lodge and St Eilian RAM Lodge, respectively, W.Bro. Alan Glover’s chosen charity was the Cancer ward at Ysbyty Gwynedd.

Alan’s wife was undergoing treatment at the Alaw ward and he was determined that during his time in the Chair of both Lodges he was going to raise awareness of how cancer is prevalent in North Wales and that funds are desperately needed to help find better treatments and cures for all cancers.

It was agreed that, at every meeting, the proceeds from all collections and raffles would go towards his chosen cause.

The arrangement was warmly received and met with great support from the Brethren and Visitors alike, raising a total amount of £700 from St Seiriol Mark Lodge and £1000 from the St Eilian RAM Lodge – a grand total of £1700.

A presentation was carried out at Alaw ward in Ysbyty Gwynedd, with W.Bro. Alan Glover, W.Bro. Arfon Roberts and W.Bro. Jonathan Prebble representing both Lodges.

The staff were truly appreciative of our donation and expressed that it would make an incredible difference to the lives they support every day.
