Hope House – Ty Gobaith

On Wednesday afternoon, 25th September our Right Worshipful Provincial Grand Master, the Deputy Provincial Grand Master and the Provincial Secretary were accompanied by W. Bro. Darren Coleman-Heald to Hope House in the Conwy Valley.

The Mark Benevolent Fund had donated, through Lifelites, a sum of £12,274 for the purchase of a ‘TechnicTrunk’ for the use of the children at Hope House. The PGM was shown how the equipment worked and had the opportunity of a ‘virtual’ flight over Paris.

St Seiriol Centenary

On 17th September, St Seiriol Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 688 celebrated its Centenary.

Over 100 Brethren assembled at the Masonic Hall in Bangor in the presence of R.W.Bro. John H. Prizeman Deputy Grand Master, and R.W.Bro Peter Talbot Provincial Grand Master.

Ethos Charity Presentation

On Wednesday the 11th of September, the V.W.Bro. Peter Talbot, Provincial Grand Master, accompanied by W.Bro. Mike Pugh, Provincial Charity Steward, V.W.Bro. Ian Smith, Dep. PGM for Staffs and Shrops and W. Bro. Kevin Spencer Assist PGM for Staffs and Shrops attended the Ethos Charity in Oswestry to present a cheque to the CEO of the Charity.

Provincial and District Grand Masters Seminar

On 9th September our PGM joined a further 40 or so PGMs and District GMs at a Seminar held at Mark Mason’s Hall in London.

This is the second occasion that such a Seminar has been held and it now looks to be firmly established in the Diary of Grand Lodge.

Matters discussed included Membership, Keystone on Line, Data Protection, Recruitment and Retention, Relations with other Orders, Communication, Succession Planning and Finance and Administration.

The following day, the PGM was joined by W. Bro. John  Evans, W. Bro. Colin Lemin and W. Bro. Phil Edwards at Mark Grand Lodge. The highlight of the meeting was seeing the Pro Grand Master invest those Brethren who were receiving Promotion in Mark Grand Lodge.

There was an excellent attendance with over 900 in Grand Lodge.

St Eilian RAM Buffet & Barbecue Update

The St Eilian Annual Summer BBQ took place at W. Bro. Roger Littlewood’s home on 25th August and was enjoyed by all.

Around 100 were in attendance and the proceeds for the day raised the magnificent sum of £1000. This will be divided equally between the Lodge, which is seeking to make a charity donation, and the Provincial Mark Centenary and Special Fund.

Strawberry Fayre Raises £250

A very successful Strawberry Fayre was held at the Bangor Masonic Hall on Saturday 3rd August.

Many thanks to Bro. Martin Wynne Jones and his wife Caroline for the catering. Thanks also to W. Bro. Brian Sion Jones for providing the background music.

The event raised £250 towards Charities.

There were over 70 in attendance including Brethren from Ruabon and Wrexham who made the long trip to Bangor, great support.

2019 MBF Festival Total Announced

The 151st MBF Festival took place at the Hilton Metropole Hotel, Brighton on Saturday 6th July, 2019.

The Festival total amounted to £1,351,349, the highest total ever achieved.

The 2020 Festival will take place in Kent on 13th June, 2020.
