In September, W.Bro. Roger Pritchard, P.Prov.G.S.O., a Past Master of Idris Lodge No 821, visited Romania to attend a meeting of the Freemasons Without Borders of Mark Master Masons Lodge 2031. Here is his report.

I arrived in Bucharest Romania Wednesday to attend Freemasons Without Borders of Mark Master Masons Lodge 2031, consecrated two years ago, from Birmingham Airport and was greeted by a Romanian Brother holding a Mark sign in the air, who directed me to a transfer to my hotel. Then two days of solo sight seeing.

On Friday night there was a welcome meal held jointly with the District Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons of Romania at a local Restaurant.

Sat with Brothers from Italy, Romania and England, Excellent Food and drink.

On Saturday morning a coach went round the hotels to take us to the meeting at an excellent venue “Ballroom Le Chateau”.

There were two joining members, from Italy and Romania and three for Advancement from Isle of Man, Romania and Italy.

The after noon was the First District meeting of Romania.

After a trip back to the hotel and a quick change and the room being totally transformed a combined Festive board was held.

Many courses of food, plenty of drink and various forms of entertainment including Romania music, the coach picked us up and that ended a fantastic weekend.

Many nationalities are represented in this lodge, from Romania, Malta, India, Italy, England, Spain, Gibraltar, Channel Islands, Isle of Man, Finland, Belgium, Scotland, Wales and I’m sure many more.

The next meeting is in South Wales in March. I hope to attend.
