On Tuesday 15th April a Mark Lodge met in Porthmadog Masonic Hall for the 1st time in over 100 years.
In the presence of the Provincial Grand Master, his Deputy and over 75 brethren, the Eifl Lodge of Mark Master Masons No. 927 held a meeting in Porthmadog rather than their usual meeting place of Pwllheli.
With the business of the evening over and the Mark Lodge closed Masons were invited in to listen to presentations on both The Mark Degree and Royal Arch.
With the Past Deputy PGM of North Wales Mark, W.Bro. Phil Edwards explaining the unique history of the Mark degree and the Deputy Grand Superintendent of North Wales Royal Arch E.Comp. David Thomas expanding the virtues of becoming a Royal Arch Mason, those present agreed that their Masonic Knowledge most definitely took a step forward.
With the Principals of Royal Arch, E.Comp. Peter Butler & O.G. Roberts, together with the Membership Officer E.Comp. Martin Adshead all assisting in the presentations and both the Mark PGM R.W.Bro. John Stanley Evans together with the Royal Arch members taking a Q&A session afterwards, this unique occasion was a memorable way to remember the event.
A £1,000 Cheque for the MBF was presented by the WM of Eifl to mark the evening and a wonderful, friendly and entertaining Festive Board rounded off the evening at Porthmadog Golf Club.
